Athlete Training
ADAPT offers private, semi-private, small group, and membership training options to help you learn how to train properly, reduce injuries, and improve athleticism. Instructions for how to try a FREE session are listed at the bottom of the page. We also offer professional and collegiate athlete training upon request.
Our membership-based group training (all options except private and semi-private). is designed to develop athletes based on their individual stage of progression and maturation. Early progressions focus on having fun and learning how to move efficiently, so the athlete is equipped to play a variety of sports. Advanced progressions focus on preparing for the demands of specific sports and overcoming each athlete’s limitations.
FUNdamentals: Ages 9-11
This group will be held each Summer, as well as during the school year when there is enough interest.
Emphasizing the ABCs (Agility, Balance, Coordination, & Speed) of training & fundamental movement skills in the golden age of learning.
During this stage of development, there is a window of accelerated learning for fundamental movement skills. Children in this group are developmentally ready to learn the general skills that provide a foundation for athletic development. This stage has also shown to be a good time to introduce some of the psychological aspects of sport such as: relaxation, goal setting, concentration, communication, and motivation. Progression from this group to the next will be dependent on age, and/or maturity (the onset of the growth spurt). As coaches, we understand that the more positive an experience that we can create during this stage, the more likely the athletes are to enjoy physical activity in the future.
$69 a month for 1x/week, $99 for 2x/wk, and $139 for 3x/wk.
Learn to Train: Ages 12-14
Mondays – Friday 5:30-6:30pm
Build the body’s engine during this critical stage of strength, power, coordination, and endurance development.
This stage is arguably their most important stage of development. This stage focuses on “building the engine” and refining basic skills in their favorite sports. Priority in this group is to build an aerobic base, and to emphasize strength and speed at the end of the growth spurt. At this time, the athlete’s heart and lungs grow rapidly, blood volume expands, estrogen and testosterone increase, and so does muscle mass. Progression from this group to the next is dependent on maturity and the conclusion of the athlete’s growth spurt.
$69 a month for 1x/week, $99 for 2x/wk, and $139 for 3x/wk.
Speed Training: Ages 14-18
Summer Schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays 4:45-5:30
Speed Training Sessions focus on movement efficiency to help reduce injuries and increase linear (Acceleration and Max velocity), lateral, and multidirectional speed. This group emphasises technical proficiency and the quality of repititions, as opposed to volume, such as “conditioning,” making it a great option for in-season or off-season athletes.
$69 a month for 1x/week and $99 for 2x/week
High School Small Group Training
Monday and Wednesday at 3, 4, 5, and 6pm. Tuesday and Thursday at 3:30 and 4:30pm. Friday at 4:30pm and Saturday at 11:15am
This group is for optimizing physical preparation. This stage follows a repetitive sequence of preparing for sport, sport performance, recovery, evaluation, and adjusting the plan to prepare for the next phase of sport. As the intensity of sport and training elevates in this stage, the mindset of our coaching shifts to physical readiness, fatigue management, and injury reduction. Further areas of priority include logging performance, developing consistency, programming recovery into training, nutrition, developing competitive spirit, and implementing mental training techniques.
Small group sessions start at $25 per session. Small groups provide individualized training in a small group setting. The benefit of the group allows us to incorporate partner drills, or competitive group activities to the beginning of the session. Each session includes speed/agility, power, and strength training. Strength training is individually assigned to athletes based on previous injuries, sport participation, needs, and experience.
$130 a month for 1x/week, $245 for 2x/wk, and $340 for 3x/wk.
Private & Semi-Private Training
Private training sessions are 1-on-1 with an ADAPT Coach, and start at $55 per session. Although anyone can participate in private training, We recommend this option primarily to anyone with specific injuries and/or limitations that can not be addressed in a group setting, college or professional athletes, or those who have scheduling conflicts with our other training options.. These sessions can be scheduled based on the availability of our coaches.
Semi-Private training is a small group of 3-5 athletes with an ADAPT Coach. These small group sessions start at $25 per session. We recommend these sessions for a group of friends, teammates, or siblings who want to remain on the same training schedule, or for those who can not attend the small group sessions. These sessions can be scheduled based on the availability of our coaches.
Open-Gym Membership
We offer an “open-gym” membership for those who wish to train on their own outside of coach-led sessions. The training center is available Monday-Friday before 5:30am, between 12:30pm-2:00pm, and after 7:00pm. It is available on Saturdays before 9:00am, and after 12:00pm, and all day on Sundays.

Step 2: Schedule your session
ALL SMALL GROUP AND MEMBERSHIP SESSIONS MUST BE SCHEDULED ON VAGARO IN ORDER TO ATTEND.
To CREATE a login, go to https://www.vagaro.com/adapt. You can do this online, or download the Vagaro app (white logo, NOT the red Vagaro pro app)
– Create an account (or reset your password if you already have an account but do not recall your password). Use the email you used to communicate with us, and will use to schedule sessions.
– Once you are logged in, find ADAPT Charlottesville and bookmark it so it stays easily accessible on your home screen
– To book sessions, go to “Book Now”, “Classes”, and select the sessions you want to attend. You can book as far out as the schedule allows.
– You must complete the booking by hitting “Checkout”, and then “Book”. This will not charge you, but will use your current package on file, if you have one. It will only charge if you don’t have a current package/membership. Your first session is FREE.
You can see what sessions you are currently signed up for by going to “Appointments”. You can cancel by going to the same “Appointments”, and selecting either “reschedule”, or “more” and then “cancel”.
You can see how many sessions you have left in your package by going to your profile, and “packages” or “membership”.
Sessions MUST be scheduled in order to attend. Please note that there is an 8-hour cancellation policy. This is important for the coach’s planning, and so other athletes can fill the spot if you cannot attend. If you do not show or late cancel, the session will be deducted from your package. If the unexpected or sickness occurs, please text your coach.
Step 3: Tell us about yourself
Email Kenny@trainatadapt.com for Athletes or Kelsie@trainatadapt.com for Adults. Please let us know your name, any injuries or limitations, your training goals and/or expectations, and when you plan to try your free session.
